Sonador II
Costa Norte, Dominican Republic
Thirty minutes from downtown Puerto Plata in Yasica Arriba, is the source of the Sonador river, consisting of two springs that are part of a huge underground aquifer which drains through two large separate cave systems that eventually meet in a canyon to form the river.
These springs are only diveable during dry periods, during periods of rain flow is way to strong and visibility is reduced to near zero. The main spring will clear up after 3-4 days of no rain however the secondary side will stay blown out for weeks at a time.
